My Rhythm IQ
My Rhythm IQ
Human-generated sound is a natural physiological signal. The rhythm of sound production reflects important neurological functions, including attention, speed control, and coordinated motor activity.
Rhythm IQ measures these rhythmic patterns to provide a simple, intuitive view of your neurological motor wellness.
How It Works
Rhythm IQ generates a total score based on four rhythm-controlled movement tasks.
Your score reflects how consistent your rhythm is:
- More consistent rhythm → Higher score
- More variation → Lower score
This provides insight into your motor coordination and neurological performance.
The 4 Rhythm Tasks
- 1. Finger Tapping
Tap your index finger to your thumb. Open your fingers comfortably and as wide as possible. Tap as fast and as rhythmically as you can for 10 seconds.
- 2. Tongue Tapping
Use the tip of your tongue to tap the roof of your mouth (upper palate). Perform comfortably, quickly, and rhythmically for 10 seconds. - 3. Jaw / Teeth Tapping
Gently tap your upper and lower teeth together by moving your jaw in a rhythmic motion. Keep the movement comfortable and steady for 10 seconds. - 4. Foot Tapping
Sit or stand with your heel on the ground. Lift the front of your foot using your ankle and tap it down rhythmically. Perform for 10 seconds.
Your Score:
- 175 – 200: Excellent
- 155 – 174: Good
- 130 – 154: Average
- 105 – 129: Needs Improvement
Why Rhythm Matters
Rhythm is a fundamental function of the brain. Subtle changes in rhythm may reflect changes in coordination, attention, and motor control. Monitoring rhythm over time can help you better understand your neurological wellness.
